HIGHLIGHTED STRENGTHS

 

Leadership

Throughout high school, I took every leadership opportunity available. In everything I was involved in, I held an executive position. I was an editor of the school newspaper for three years, in addition to leading the student government for three years and serving as a captain for various sports teams. In college, I am a member of Pledge Class 2013 of Alpha Omicron Pi and the youngest pledge class member in its Leadership Council, holding the position of Vice President of Chapter Development. I plan to run for Vice President of Administration my sorority upon the suggestion from various members.

 

Conceptual Layout Design

I served as a member of my high school news staff for three years. My sophomore year, I was a staff writer, but moved up to Entertainment Editor and finally, Feature Editor my junior and senior years, respectively. The Feature section was the centerfold of our news magazine and was very heavy on graphic design and layout. I won many awards for this skillset and have utilized it in many college assignments, including group projects and design class projects.

 

Efficient Communication

I pride my effective leadership skills on my quality communication with members of whichever association I am a part of. The reason I am able to utilize my alternate skills is because of my grasp on effective communication. I have fine-tuned this skill through exposure to many different communication concepts through college coursework and am a very approachable because of it.

 

Team Building

I currently serve as the Vice President of Chapter Development for my sorority, which is essentially the “sisterhood chair”. I promote bonding and healthy relationships amongst our members in order to create a more close-knit environment. I have also utilized this skill in other positions of leadership and frequently use my creativity to successfully execute my team building.

 

Versatile Writing

Success in multiple courses through writing pieces—shows versatility due to variance in course focus, including science, English, math, communication, and honors.
