Geologic Setting Final Project

Throughout the entirety of the semester, my Geology 101 class was tasked with picking a prominent, local geologic process and completing a thorough analysis of its history and features. I decided to cover Snoqualmie Falls, which has a great deal of significance to me since my childhood. In this paper, we utilized secondary research methods, intepreting certain features through our existing knowledge of geology.

Facebook and Self-Esteem Study

At Washington State University, the various Honors English sections all focus on a different sub-concept. My specific section focused on the field of positive psychology. When prompted to conduct our own primary study, I tackled the topic of self-esteem as it is affected by the use of Facebook. My minor study consisted of surveying five participants after they went without the use of the media for one week.

Photoshop Focus Group Protocol

In one of my strategic communication courses, the focus landed on quantitative research methods. However, we covered qualitative methods in practice, due to its prevalence in the communication field. Our class split into sections to conduct focus groups on the general opinions about the use of Photoshop in the media. We first had to create a protocol for the focus group in order to assure that our bias was left out of the discussion.
