ALEXIS MCGINNIS 

My name is Alexis McGinnis, but you can call me Lexi! I am a second semester junior of The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. I am an honor student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication with an emphasis in Advertising and a minor in Hospitality Business Management. In addition to involvement in my studies, I currently hold the position of Vice President of Chapter Development of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi. I also work part time on a digitizing and metadata project at WSU’s Holland and Terrell Libraries in addition to a part-time serving job at a local country club back home.

 

I believe my greatest strengths to be my leadership ability and experience, as well as my optimal communication skills. I have a great deal of experience working with many different media in the communication role and have worked many different projects utilizing my layout and creative design skills both online and in print. I pride myself on my initiative and my ability to try anything new with confidence in my capacity to succeed. As a student, I push myself in every aspect, often taking on more than the required course load and managing to maintain my spot on the President’s Honor Roll. I love getting involved in the community and, through my sorority, I spend free time volunteering for both local and national causes. We support our national philanthropy, The Arthritis Foundation, and I love volunteering at local animal shelters in the mean time.

 

I find myself exhibiting passion in every aspect of my life and my personal development. I never put anything less than my whole heart into everything I do and I find it to be one of my greatest attributes. In the off time that I do have to relax, I greatly enjoy singing, reading, and crafting to pass the time. Particularly, I love making jewelry and sewing! When I have longer periods of free time, I take on greater adventures, instead. One of my greatest passions in life is traveling, so when I have the opportunity to, I seize it almost every time. My hope is that I eventually will progress my way through both the Advertising and Hospitality industries, combining both fields to utilize each individual set of knowledge. I hope that I may one day work in advertising in the field of travel and tourism, ideally for a destination-based travel company.
