COMSTRAT 310 — Digital Content and Campaign Implementation

The main focus of this course was centered around gaining experience using digital content to implement marketing and communication strategies. Through the curriculum, students gained experience working with various social media, integrated marketing campaigns, website planning, and much more.
COMSTRAT 309 — Quantitative Research Methods
Washington State University
The main focus of this course was centered around gaining real world experience learning about and conducting various types of research used in the field of communication. Research conducted included focus groups, mass surveys, field interviews, participant observation, and case studies.
COMSTRAT 380 — Advertising Principles and Practices
Washington State University
The main focus of this course was centered around gaining an introductory experience with advertising and all it entailed. An overview of the field was given and students were tested on various readings and lectures, participated in on-campus communication research, and created a final mock advertising plan to imitate real-world ad firm projects.
COM 300 — Writing in Communication

The main focus of this course was centered around learning proper writing styles for the various forms of communication. The primary style utilized was informational, journalistic writing, but also included press releases, advertising, public statements, and radio blurbs.
COM 210 — Multimedia Content Creation

The main focus of this course was centered around creating pieces for the promotion of online communication content. Students worked with Adobe Creative Cloud and maintained blogs throughout the semester to showcase their work and creativity.
COM 105 — Communication in Global Contexts

The main focus of this course was centered around learning various styles of communication including their fundamentals and presence throughout the world. Focus was drawn on culture differences in communication, but applied this to various forms of communication including public relations, advertising, and crisis communication.
CMST 102 — Introduction to Mass Media

This course intended to examine the impact of American media and its history. Students analyzed media influence on society and the relationships among media, audience, and government. Current events and issues were discussed, analysis of content creation within the media was approached, as well as application of media to effectively communicated with particular audiences.
HBM 235 — Travel, Society and Business
Washington State University
The main focus of this course was centered around learning the ins and outs of the travel and tourism aspect of the hospitality industry. Students gained exposure to the field through terminology, concepts and theories, and a real-world group destination analysis profile to conclude the semester. Emphasis of the course relied on applying existing expertise and knowledge to the tourism industry while executing cultural sensitivity.
MKTG 360 — Introduction to Marketing Principles
Washington State University
The main focus of this course was centered around preparing students for the marketing field by providing them with the basics of the industry and how it combined both business and communication. Students were tested on content, but also participated in many on-campus marketing research studies.
HBM 182 — Introduction to Hospitality Industry Experience
Washington State University
The main focus of this course was centered around preparing students for real-world experience in the hospitality industry. This six-week course gave students knowledge of interviewing, resume and cover letter writing, professional conduct, and professional development in the field.
ACCTG 230 — Introduction to Financial Accounting

The main focus of this course was centered around introducing business students to the fundamentals of financial accounting and applying it to the industry of their choice. It served as a requirement for Hospitality minors and gave great insight into the workings of a business to all students.
